I understood what you said word for word. Everyday i get to the conclusion that all muslim girls experienced the same things at some point. But you know, i'm really blessed to have a mind that refuses to obey without questioning "why??". It is truly a blessing. Here i am, from a girl born and raised in a religious family, to a girl who adores her hijab and feels like she's the luckiest girl to be a muslim. Don't take it as a rule, something you do because you were told to, look for reasoning and don't listen to anyone who tells you not to because it will "drive you away from the right path" or that it causes kufr. I mean, when was the last time we prayed with a reason? Let's be real must of us pray because we're told to.

And lastly, remember that Allah is so kind the human mind cannot even comprehend it. And pray for me, i'm looking forward wearing the niqab, ik that it's not necessary in islam but i just want to wear it😁🩷.

God this is like all my teenage years rolled into one. Its everything I experienced. And the shame that follows with not wanting religion, the shame with not being or thinking the way you should. Its so real. There were moments when I wished I was born into another family. Any but mine. There were times when I just hated being me, hated how religion defined me, hated my hijab, hated having to cover, just hated everything that made me who I was. And over time I forgot too. Forgot the tears, the pleas, the begging, just how much everything hurt.

Im also using my page to explore and reclaim that part of my life, to stop being ashamed of it and see it as a stepping stone to where I am today. The journey can be messy. It can be ugly. But its the destination that matters. And sometimes the more you fall, the more you appreciate what you have.
